Election watchdog Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih) 2.0 has become quiet ins recent time, as the posts on its official Facebook page is decreasing in comparison to the period before GE-14.
In 2018, the amount of Facebook posting made by Bersih 2.0 steadily increased from February to April and later reached its peak in May, when the 14th general election (GE-14) took place.
After that, Bersih 2.0 postings on Facebook have been significantly reduced. This trend continues till today.
For February and March 2019, Bersih 2.0’s official Facebook page has posted not more than 20 updates each month.
In February, most of the postings were about the tribunal hearing of Election Commission (EC) former members along with the Semenyih by-election.
In March, there were postings on the police reports against Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional for opening up “pondok panas” (canvassing booths) to campaign for Semenyih by-election beyond the campaigning period.
In addition, Bersih 2.0 is also doing coverage for the upcoming Rantau by-election.
However, the number of postings indicate that Bersih 2.0 is steering clear from the current political scene.
Does this mean that Malaysia is cleaner?
