On February 16, the nomination day for Semenyih by-election was held. However, the event did not went smoothly. An altercation occurred went Syed Saddiq entered an area packed with BN supporters.
As an outcome, Syed Saddiq launched a police report on UMNO Youth EXCO Wan Muhammad Azri or commonly known as Papagomo. The former said the latter had choked him during the squabble.
Hence, Papagomo was remanded by the police for three days to assist with the investigation.
As we can see from the top issue of Papagomo, it was mostly about his altercation with Syed Saddiq. Besides, Syed Saddiq added that he won’t retract his lawsuit against the Papagomo.
At the same time, videos of the altercation with various camera angles were spread online. In one of the videos, it was shown that Papagomo was putting his hand on Syed’s shoulder rather choking him.
Additionally, his violent past further deteriorates his image as a politician.
In 2016, a video capturing Papagomo hitting a foreign worker became viral. It was reported that the victim harassed women. Thus, it led to the beating. After the incident, Papagomo pleaded guilty and was fined RM4,300.
Nevertheless, the videos on Semenyih altercation only shows the incident after it was initiated. The videos did not fully capture the whole thing. Whether Papagomo did choke Syed Saddiq or not, he has been labelled as “UMNO gangster”.
